QRtesy is operated by MD Enterprise (“QRtesy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the QRtesy website and related QR code and NFC tag services (collectively, the “Service”). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the Service.

a. Information You Provide

When you register a QR or NFC tag or purchase a QRtesy product, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number (for SMS notification delivery)

  • Mailing address (for physical tag shipment)

  • Payment information (processed securely through our payment processor; we do not store card numbers)


b. Information Collected Automatically

When someone scans your QR tag, we collect:

  • The time and date of the scan

  • General location data associated with the scan (if provided by the scanning device)

  • The message submitted by the scanner

We do not collect or share the scanner’s identity with the tag owner, and we do not share the tag owner’s personal contact information with the scanner.


c. Usage Data

We may automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including your device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and pages visited within the Service.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver email, SMS, or other service notifications to registered item owners when their QR or NFC tag is scanned or tapped, and deliver optional private reply notifications to scanners who expressly request them.

  • Process orders and ship physical QR tags

  • Manage your account and provide customer support

  • Improve and maintain the Service

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Send service-related communications (e.g., order confirmations, policy updates)


We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.


3. SMS Notifications

By voluntarily providing your mobile phone number and affirmatively selecting the SMS consent option when registering a tag or requesting an optional private reply, you expressly consent to receive transactional SMS messages from QRtesy. Consent to SMS is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies based on tag activity and requested replies. Message and data rates may apply.

We use Twilio to deliver SMS messages. Your mobile number is shared with Twilio only as necessary to provide the messaging service. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers acting solely on our behalf to deliver the requested messaging service.


4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who assist in operating the Service (e.g., payment processors, SMS delivery providers, shipping carriers), under confidentiality obligations

  • Law enforcement or government agencies when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public

  • Successor entities in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to users


We do not disclose an item owner’s contact information to people who scan or tap a QRtesy tag, and we do not disclose a scanner’s contact information to the item owner. This privacy protection is foundational to QRtesy.


5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your registration or use of the Service is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address listed below. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.


6. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
